A day off

WHO: Drift and Vandal
WHERE: The lake out near... somewhere. I forget where, but I know it's there.
WHEN Monday to Wednesday
WHAT: Camping! And drinking. Vandal and Drift go on a vacation.
WARNINGS: Vandal's mouth.

"So it should be a ways ahead."

Maybe she'd over-packed, but it's easy when you have a holo-inventory. So they had firewood, food, even high-grade for Drift, and whiskey for her. They were going to have a hell of a time, damn it. If she has anything to do with it. Drift needs it, and so does she. After everything that had happened?

A little R&R will do them both good. So she sinks back into Drift's passenger seat and chews on a piece of very dry jerky.

"Are you excited? I'm excited. We're gonna drunk. And maybe hang out and it's gonna be fuckin' great. I've never been camping. Have you? I've read about it. I always wanted to when I was a kid but. Space. Kinda lacks proper forests and wilderness."

Drift gives an entirely unmanly squeak, flinching backward from her feint, frowning at her laugh. "Yeah? What if I always expect it?" Because he could do that. Or try.

He gives her a mock-suspicious look. See? He's expecting it right now, so no tickling. Got it? He's onto you.

He keeps his optics on her as he takes another sip of energon, watching the water drip off the lengths of her hair.

"You'll let your guard down eventually. And when you do? Ohhhh you will rue the day. Rue it." She flashes him a wicked grin.

"You'll see."

She flops on her back in a puddle, finishing the bottle.

"Just don't, you know, make me rue it in front of Wing." That's the energon unlocking a little inhibition there. Wing already thinks Drift's sort of a dork.

He watches her down the bottle. That's...wow. Maybe she's really thirsty? Well, he has to hold his own. He tips the cube back, trying to catch up.

"I told him you were ticklish," She admits, "He then proceeded me to give me the talk."

She needs more booze to talk about that, though. She feels distinctly like a third wheel when it comes to them, and though she adores them both, she can't help but feel as though perhaps she's getting in the way with how much time she spends with Drift. She wonders if it bothers either of them.

"Why would you even tell him that?" Wing knew he was ticklish? That could only end horribly, with lots of squeaking and flailing. Vandal, that's just mean.

Blink. "...what talk?"

"It'd be cute to see," She's just tipsy enough to admit to that, "Besides, I wouldn't get away with it if you weren't gentle as fuck and trying not to hurt me."

She turns over, drawing lines in the puddle that's dripping off of her.

"The 'be careful when you play you could potentially molest him' talk."

Yep.

"Cute for you, maybe." Not cute for Drift. Though Wing would probably love it, too.

The high grade is sending him into a warm, glowy kind of fuzz, so he can't even pretend to sound irritated. Just tipsily grumpy.

But that penetrates through his happy fog. "....oh." Wow. "You, uh, talked about that. With Wing. About me." Yeah nothing weird here at all.

"Yes, cute for me. You're cute when you're happy." She'll blame that on the whiskey later, of course.

"Yeah. It was pretty awkward. But hey, I mean. He really cares about you, so I don't really blame him for wanting to protect. Uh. That..."

"Well. If you like it...." Anything's worth it to see her happy.

But that...gets a bit squirmy. He squeezes his optics shut, downing the rest of his energon. "Uh. It's...uh. Not something you have to worry about?"

"Does it bother you?" It doesn't seem like it, but never csn hurt to be considerate. He's not a toy, after all.

"Yeah... I mean. I know where not to touch so. Y'know..." Uhg. Even through the haze of the alcohol she feels weird discussing it.

"Anyways. We know what we're doing."

Yeah totally.

"Why would it bother me? It's just, you know, new."

Um. You know, the more he hears about this conversation, the more he doesn't want to hear. "Do I want to know how much, uh, detail you went into?" Color? Size?

Because, sure, why not make this awkward for everyone?

"Well, I know it can be embarrassing." Though she does keep it private. She like roughhousing with him, it's relaxing, helps blow off steam, even if he does let her win.

"Haha, not much. Just told me to be careful where I'm grabbing. I mean, I kinda got a more detailed talk from Ratchet. Ehhhhhh. But yeah, Wing really just... asked me to be mindful of certain areas."

She laughs awkwardly.

"It's fine. Embarrassment won't kill me."

Ah, so we're apparently putting that to the test.

"I see." Wow. "You, uh you don't have to. I'm sturdier than I look." But now he's thinking.... "Are there, uh, places I should be careful? On you?"

"It can feel pretty spectacularly weird, though. And I'd hate to make you really uncomfortable."

She reaches over and rubs a hand over his arm.

"I don't think sturdy is what he was worried about. Ahaha- uhhhh... me? Well you don't really ever get too grabby with me. I mean, I'm a lot less breakable than I seem but ah. Not really. You'd have to be uhhhhh. Looking for it."

She produces a second bottle of whiskey finally, because wow.

"Vandal. I survived the embarrassment of being a girl you threw around like a piece of cloth. I can handle this."

"Oh?" Then what?....OH. Oh. "I'd, uh, tell you if it was an issue." He frowns. "And you'd tell me, right?"

"Ahaha... sorry again about that."

Yeah so she feels a little bad.

"I figured you would. And yeah, likewise. You don't ever fight back, so I don't think it's much of an issue." She offers him a challenging smile.

"Don't be. I probably deserved it." It's easy to say now. But it had been unsettling being so small and helpless.

"I'd fight back if you did something wrong." He grins. "But you wouldn't."

"Well, there are other ways that could have been handled."

She smiles into her new bottle.

"You're very forgiving."

A brief pause follows and she sends him a lopsided grin.

"Hey. You wanna play a drinking game or something?"

"We'll know better for next time." An involuntary little shiver. He really hopes there isn't a 'next time'.

"I don't know any drinking games, but why not?" That's what they were here for, right? To have fun?

"Well let's just hope we don't really have to."

She taps his arm with her foot.

"Sure is. Now let me see... Uhh. We could play 'never have I ever'? One of us says 'never have I ever' followed by something thy have never done, and if the other person has done it, they take a drink. The point is to get the other person to admit to silly hit and get totally smashed."

"I'd be all right with that." More than all right.

He's not sure this is a good idea, but, well...when has he been known for good ideas? "You first."

"Fair enough," Vandal shrugs, "Never have I ever... been so drunk I puked."

There. She gives Drift an expectant look.

All right. So the rules. If he hadn't he shouldn't drink. "Maybe tonight. First time for everything." He flashes a grin.

Oh right. His turn. "Uh. Never have I ever...." Aha. "...told anyone I loved them." Cheating? Maybe. All's fair in love, war, and drinking games.

"Well, well. I don't exactly want to see you lose your energon, but I do intend to get you plastered."

Well. She tips her bottle back at that. Yeah, she'd said it.

"Really? What about Wing?" She won't pry too much, but- well.

"Ah. Never have I ever... had sex in a public place." Fine then. No holds barred.

"Oh? You think you can outdrink me?" She...probably can. He's hardly a heavy drinker. But that's not the point of smack talk.

"Uh. No. I...haven't told him yet." You and the little number guy, riding him about this.

....Fine. "Uh." He'll just give her a frown, before taking a sip.

Going to be like that, huh? "Never have I ever.......you know, this is really hard, Vandal." Because he's done a lot and things he's never done are kind of hard to figure out.
