The Worst Field Trip of All Time

WHO: Megatronus & the Badlands volunteers
WHERE: At the edge of Haven, then onwards to the center of the Badlands offshoot.
WHEN: Sunday/Monday
WHAT: Now that they have their assault team, it's time to put an end to the recent influx of monsters.
WARNINGS: Violence against robotic centipedes.

Whether they hear it from Megatronus himself or through one of his Acolytes, all of the volunteer fighters are offered the same information: a time, a place, and instructions on what to expect from the Badlands. More of the monsters, surely, and the Call of the darkness is an ever-present threat. Stay within sight of the group at all times or risk being lost forever.

The only thing left to do now is make it to the rendez-vous point.

[[OOC note: tag in under the two sub-threads already provided: a more relaxed one for pre-fight chatter, and the actual fight thread. You can participate in both, or just do one and handwave your character's involvement in the other.]]

When the horde comes into sight...there's a moment of terrible awe that takes hold of Wing. This is something the like of which the knight has never seen. It's like standing before a raging bonfire, the heat of battle pressing hot to their faces, and then that flash of fear is burned away. Courage summons to him as it always has, and the valiant way Drift leaps into battle only bolsters that.

A prayer on his lips Wing follows not far behind, intent on watching the swordmech's back and making certain he's not overrun by smaller centipedes. His face set and determined, the vibrant blue of his plasma blades bright in the twilight. He'll carve out some breathing room here, using his speed and agility to keep the enemy disorganized. Not that there's much organization anyway.

Bright azure flashes as his blades whirl and strike home time and again. He's constantly moving, never still, taking to the air briefly when it proves advantageous. If there's a break in the oncoming threats, or more people show up to help him draw the line and hold it, he'll move to strike at an opening Drift makes on the larger creature.
