[OPEN] I love the night. I love the night. I love the element of danger…

Who: Thundercracker, anyone
What: Flying…just for the pure joy of it
When: Now
Where: ALL OVER EVERYWHERE . . . seriously – he’s a fighter jet, an F-15 Eagle, they devour ground distances in miles per second . . . short of the Badlands, he’s just streaking All. The. Hell. Over. Haven and hundreds of miles surrounding. Because he can. He is, though, being careful not to get TOO far away at any given time.
Notes: No real point to this except that I’m still coming down from a high from last weekend, LOL. Despite the quip in TC’s username, I’m a BIG fan of the Blue Angels Naval Flight Demonstration Team (which technically are FA-18 Hornets, the next model /after/ the Eagle, but yeah…I just adore combat jets in general), and I FINALLY got to see them last Saturday at the Miramar Air Show! *DANCES AROUND IN GLEE!!!* So, yeah, got this in my head and it won’t let go, so I’m going with it.
If you’re flight capable, feel free to join him. If you’re not, feel free to get his attention somehow and he’ll come down to you. Posting this as a log because we don’t really have incidental cameras around Haven for random, accidental video, but if you’d like, feel free to comm him with Video or Voice instead. Really, anything’s awesome!
Sooner or later, everyone in Haven will hear it, and probably many times over at that – the roar of afterburners that recedes as rapidly as it crescendos. The noise is thunderous, the deafening kind that pounds with palpable force through your chest as readily as it does your ears. Or audios, depending.
Especially those times when Thundercracker doesn’t keep himself up high but rather indulges in streaking along at low altitude as if taunting the buildings and very rock cliffs to touch him as he passes.
The blue Seeker has been feeling cooped up lately. He’s restless. He’s a machine of war, after all. He really has no place in a time and settlement of peace. He doesn’t know what to do with himself.
And so he’s out doing what he does best. Flying.
High-speed fly-bys, loops and twists and barrel-rolls, steep climbs and deliberate stall-outs . . . every acrobatic gesture known to aviation. He’s pulling out all the stops, and then some.
At least he's saving his occasional sonic booms for when he's well out over the wilds away from Haven?

Using his glider around here had been much different than how he was used to, but he was pleased to find it worked just as well within a world. It had certainly made getting up to his bed in the temple a lot easier, not that he really used the large slab as such. The boy didn't want to fly too high since he was trying to get a good view of the everything from above, and landmarks were important to take note of. It didn't hurt to also keep an eye out for large aircraft that might be doing crazy stunts out here either.
Sorry for the late reply! Week got busier on me than I was expecting...
Thundercracker could be arrogant, especially in the air - he was a Seeker, it came with the wings - but he wasn't so much so as to fail to be mindful of other craft, including smaller ones.
His scanners, stretched to the max, picked up the little aerial object easily enough. Before he could catch himself, his targeting system achieved lock-on and he had to willfully disengage it, admonishing himself silently for the knee-jerk reaction. His curiosity piqued, he swung around to approach and check it out.
A bipedal figure on . . . what was that? He'd never seen anything quite like it before. It was non-living and stiff-winged, but it wasn't a jet or other plane, and far too small to be anyway. It didn't look like a hang-glider or anything similar, either - and, again, too small. In any case, it seemed to be being ridden by . . . scanning through the metal superstructure, it seemed to be an organic underneath, rather than a mechanoid. Interesting.
Having circled a few times, he drew up underneath it and rocked side-to-side a little, wagging his wings, idly curious if the daring human would mimic. He didn't really think much about what he was doing - it was part of the protocol of gestures and such that made up a sort of Seeker "sign language".
Ah, there you are! 'sokay!
As the large shape came up beneath him, the boy cocked his head as the jet wavered a bit. What was it doing? Well, maybe it was playing around with him? Then again, it didn't have a mouth, so how else was it supposed to talk. (For all the Cybertronians Ventus had met and befriended so far, he had yet to find out that they could change into such things.)
Oh well, why not? Let's see what happens, the boy thought, shifting his feet just a little on the board so he could copy the earlier gesture.
Yeah . . . Teh Busy will be letting up in about another week to week and a half. OTL
Thundercracker should not have been as pleased as he was - it was unbefitting of a Decepticon in general, let alone a Seeker.
But since his trine wasn't here...He simply was, and no one had to know. Any creature that could lift itself off the ground - or had the courage and determination to make a way - and claim a place in the skies could capture the Seeker's attention. He wagged his wings again, a bit more this time, trying to be careful not to go too far and seem to be trying to get the organic to knock himself off his flying board, then slowly banked around to one side, leading the organic a bit . . . and wondering if the organic had any maneuvers to pull.
*pats*
He'd never flown with anyone before, so it was kind of exciting. He was willing to forget why he'd come out here in the first place for a little while. It had been a while since he'd had any fun, after all. Not about to be left behind, Ventus kicked up the speed, following after Thundercracker.
IDK if Ventus has a comm in his helmet. If not, ignore the last – TC will try something else if
Thundercracker led the little organic around a little more – wagging his wings, turning lazy horizontal loops, even a vertical loop (he wondered of the organic would manage it, considering he didn't seem to be particularly attached to the flying board under his feet) – then straightened out again, settling underneath. Not that he'd planned it this way, but Ventus could look into his cockpit if he cared to, seeing the empty seat beneath the clear canopy.
The Seeker reached out with his comm signals, pinging across several frequencies in the hopes of finding one the organic's systems would pick up. Assuming he had a built-in comm link at all.
"Can you hear me? This is Thundercracker, the F-15 Eagle flying beneath you."
He does have his LD with him! :3
Once he was level again, Ventus lifted his head at the voice, glancing down first at the jet that flew beneath him, and then at the communications device he had strapped down on the front of his glider.
"Yeah, I can hear you! -Thundercracker! It's me, Ventus!" He remembered the Decepticon now, even if had been a while now since he'd spoken to him.
\o/
Ah! It was someone he knew. Well . . . for a measure of "knowing" someone. He wagged his wings again a little. "Ventus. I'm impressed. Is this flying board something you've recovered from home, or did you find it here? For a human, you seem pretty comfortable in the air."
If that sounded kind of arrogant and presumptuous . . . it kind of was. He didn't really mean it that way, though. It was actually supposed to be a compliment.

"I guess you could say it came with me," he replied. "I've had some decent practice with it before I ended up here, and it sure comes in handy." Especially getting around between places.

I mean, who likes a box of turkey feathers? Might make a nice fan, but he hardly needs something like that.
Having come from a rough background on the streets in a big city, the teen hasn't had a lot of encounters with airborne vehicles, not this close and not anything like Thundercracker here. So, while the sound startles him, initially, forces him to cover his ears when the seeker passes too close, he still will watch him dart around when he can. Man, these things can move fast.
Sorry for the late reply! Week got busier on me than I was expecting...
The Seeker's not wholly incognizant of anyone on the ground, though he's not paying too too much attention. However, he spots an organic he's spoken with a few times over the network but not yet face-to-face.
Eh, what the frag.
Raising one wing and dropping the other, Thundercracker banks back around, circling once to find a relatively clear spot. Satisfied, he transforms and lands, looking around to re-spy the organic.
'Tuck', wasn't it? 'Turk'? 'Tock'? ...something like that. He took a moment to run back through his datatracks while he looked.
Is okay. Things have been eating me too. ;3; *CLING*
It was a surprise to him, then, to see Thundercracker turn back and head for his location. When he started to look around, Tuck just smiled and went back to his business. Apparently the big guy just needed to find something, like the rest of them who had any business being here.

When Tuck started moving again, Thundercracker's scanners picked him up more quickly. He'd also located the organic's designation by then.
"Tuck!"

"Yeah?"

So it's no small wonder that when Thundercraker screams by it teases him into the sky. Not that it's difficult to get him off the ground, quite the opposite, it's rather hard to keep him there sometimes.
With a leap he shifts to his alt and leaves the ground behind, chasing after the larger jet. Wing's former function is reliant on speed, so catching the other jet is not too much of a bother. He just hopes his company is welcome. He's been flying daily since he arrived here, but usually alone.
Sorry for the late reply! Week got busier on me than I was expecting...
With a name like "Wing", one would HOPE it'd be easy to get him off the ground.
Then again, Thundercracker knew an Autobot jet back home who was severely acrophobic, so . . . one could never tell.
Thundercracker registers Wing on his scanners and starts to flex his ailerons to come back around. Instead, the Knight takes to the air. The Seeker has seen the other flier out and about, but has never approached him, not wanting to be taken wrong somehow - that he was attacking or something. But now Wing is joining him. The other's not a Seeker - there was a time he'd have disdained him for it - but now the blue Eagle finds he welcomes the company, glad that Wing seems more than capable of keeping up. He'd started to slow down to let the other catch up, but instead he opens throttle, rocking side-to-side a bit, wagging his wings in a playful gesture.
Catch me if you can, it seems to say.
I shall challenge you for the title of Shamefully Late Replies!
Wing notes Thundercracker's gesture with glee and accepts that challenge with a wiggle of his ailerons. He's been flying with Vector, learning the ancient (to Wing anyway) aerial language, and now he's thinking he really wants to teach the other fliers...
But that's for another day. Right now he has a blue Eagle to catch, and more sky to devour. The keen of his nacelles rises higher as their output increases, the directional pinions slicking down as he spurs forward after the jet. He closes most all of the gap between them, waiting to see what Thundercracker's next move is. He doesn't want to give away too much of his ability yet so he holds back some, though given Thundercracker's talents he'll have employ it all eventually.
WE SHALL SIT IN THE LATE CORNER AND PARTY! 8D
And little doubt there is that Wing will put Thundercracker to his paces as well, given the scout's speed and agility.
Thundercracker can't deny the thrill that races through his circuits when the other flyer gives chase. This is what he was meant for. This is what any flight-capable frame is meant for – claiming the skies, owning them, making of them a personal playground for races, acrobatics, sparring dogfights, anything they fragging well pleased. Thundercracker pours on speed, testing his pursuer, then suddenly yanks up his nosecone, rolling his fuselage to tilt his wings, arcing tightly to double-back in an attempt to get behind the other flyer.
How agile are you really, fair Knight?
SLOW TAGGERS UNITE!
Wing couldn't agree more. He's spent several millennium secluded underground and unable to really put much wind past his flight panels, but here, he could own the sky, and the rare occasion he got to do it with someone else it's a rare treat. It's not had to encourage him, the small jet has an intennse spirit and is easily playful, so when Thundercracker makes the chase more interesting he eagerly indulges. His reaction time could be better--the seeker definatly has more combat flight experience--but Wing certainly does not lack in the agility area. He losses some distance when he's late to react, but easily pulls the same double back, chasing readily after the larger jet with a tight aileron roll, attempting to regain the distance he's lost.
Have I mentioned I'm REALLY REALLY GOOD at backtags? XD;;;;
Thundercracker would shudder to know the other flyer had been stuck underground for...well, really, any length of time. If he has one clear weakness, it's a severe case of claustrophobia.
Thundercracker will race him all over Haven and the surrounding outlying lands, turning acrobatics, sometimes giving chase, sometimes being chased. And if Wing takes initiative at any point, he'll find the Seeker game to follow suit for a while before taking the lead once more.
Finally, the blue Eagle will settle in alongside the smaller flyer, speaking over comms to be better heard. "You've got some interesting moves, Knight."
That's good because me too! /TAGS OFF INTO YESTURDAY'S SUNSET
Oh Wing certainly will. He's got a decidedly playful spirit, but it wanders into the area of being a little bit cheeky too, which makes for a mischievous mix. And he does enjoy a good-natured challenge, both issuing them and meeting them.
Wing pulls alongside the blue jet, flexing an aileron in something like thanks. "I could say the same for you, Seeker! It's been a long time since I had someone to really put me through my paces."
\o/
Yeah, being trapped like that for any length of time would probably have made the Seeker lose his sanity.
The mischief makes the Seeker miss his wingmate – Skywarp was always cheeky and a trouble-maker too – so the mix is well-received, Thundercracker even playing back in kind somewhat. It's not really in his own nature, per se, but he's dealt with it enough to know what to do if he's so inclined. Today, he definitely is.
"It's been a pleasure. Flyers belong in the air. We should do this more often. Think I can coax you from your bar now and then?" Was that a light tease? Yes, the normally-stoic Seeker is definitely relaxing and loosening up a little lately.

Wing had a similar wingmate back home. Though not as tight as a trine member, there was a Knight or two he was close and one in particular who was quite the character. All of them played a part in Wing regainig his bright-sparked nature again after that time when things were so dark and he never thought he'd never fly again.
They aren't here now, but Thindercracker is, and Wing is happy to find some of his playfulness reciprocated. It makes him laugh aloud as they dance and chase in the sky, something that might even be briefly heard over the drone of jet engines.
"It has indeed! None of the other flyers here seem to be as athletic." Wing is grinning and it can be heard in his voice. "And I certainly think you could convince me. You know I try and fly every morning, I should show my circuit!"

Did he just invite himself along on what would essentially be a social outing? Yes, the veteran Seeker is definitely relaxing and allowing himself to open up a little more.
