[open/semi-closed] Pot calling kettle black
WHO: Jetfire, DW!Starscream, anyone who visits him
WHERE: Jetfire's (and Starscream's)room in Liege's temple
WHEN: backdated to Wednesday and forwards a few days
WHAT: Starscream whining because he's injured. Jetfire being long-suffering about the same. Anyone else being whined at by injured Starscream. Do you dare enter?
WARNINGS: Noneexcept for excessive drama from injured!Starscream
When the group that had gone towards the Badlands had started to trickle in, Jetfire had gone on alert, which paid off when Starscream's call didn't make him drop anything and he could just put it down and leave.
He'd managed, barely, not to say anything when he landed. He also managed to say nothing while taking Starscream back to their room, but putting him down on the berth after getting inside and his control was pretty much lost.
"How come you said nothing about leaving?" Briefly, one hand curled around Starscream's shoulder, a shade too tight, before he let go and straightened up, already having made sure any lingering injuries were simply those Starscream's self-repair would have to take care of themselves.
At least he'd had a medic see to him. That didn't make anything else better.
((OOC: if you want to tag Starscream alone, just make a new thread. c:))

And Starscream himself was... something. Not quite a friend, which coming from Skyfire was saying a lot, but he wasn't someone he could ignore either. And he was injured.
So here he was now, coming to visit. For some reason.
"... hello?"
no subject
Especially after he heard a certain familiar voice that instantly caused him to go into 'oh poor me' mode.
"Jetfire! Where have you been, I could have--Wait. Oh. It's you."
Still, Skyfire was better than nothing.
"Why didn't you come earlier?!"
Because Skyfire should have had psychic powers and rushed to his aid of course.
no subject
At least he had enough experience to know how to deal with this kind of thing... even if the thought itself was a little disturbing. He tried not to think too much about it.
"I see you're doing better than I thought," he sighed.
no subject
Starscream huffed, shifting his weight on the berth in annoyance and then instantly regretted moving.
"Arrugh. I can't take this anymore, you should just shoot me and get it over with."
No, he didn't really mean that, but he'd say it anyway.
no subject
Well. Not as long as they kept him here, at least. Skyfire was pretty sure that if he ventured outside, there would be more than enough people who'd gladly take him literally.
But Skyfire had enough experience with Starscream-speech.
"What happened, anyway?"
no subject
"I was just minding my own business when about twenty giant insect-like creatures popped out of the ground and ambushed me. It was only through my superior skills that I was able to destroy them all and escape."
no subject
"You were minding your own business in the Badlands?" he sighed. "That could have gone a lot worse."
no subject
He paused before he went off on a tangent about his grand adventure to just sort of eye Skyfire.
"You're not going to start lecturing me, are you?"
no subject
Besides, he wasn't in the mood for pointless arguing right now. Which also meant he needed to think of a better way to say 'Jetfire was worried about you'. That just wouldn't work.
"But you could have warned someone before leaving, you know."
There. Compromise.
no subject
And so he smirked up at Skyfire.
"Why? Did you miss me?"
no subject
"Hardly, considering I didn't even know you were gone until a few days ago," he replied. "Which wouldn't have been too bad, but I wasn't the only one who had no idea where you'd gone."
no subject
His words were more proof that the was pretty much just screwing with Skyfire. Why? Because it was far too much fun.
"He's done the same thing, you know."
no subject
"... he has?"
no subject
Starscream answered and took the time to gesture around in a flail like fashion.
"I'm sure he didn't tell you that one, did he? Oh yes, lets lecture Starscream about what he does and not care about the time Jetfire decided to fly into space and get lost without telling me he even left."
He huffed and folded his arms across his chest, all annoyed like. Obviously he left out the reason Jetfire didn't tell him, but that was beside the point anyway.
no subject
"I wasn't trying to lecture you," he said.
no subject
But still like Jetfire.
"Then what are you doing?"
He eyed Skyfire suspiciously, figuring he changed the subject slightly because the two giant scientists were secretly working together in some sort of scheme.
no subject
"Look, it isn't about what I think you should or shouldn't do." Not only about that, at least. "But there are practical reasons to let someone know when you're going off to do something like this. What if you hadn't been able to come back? We wouldn't even know where to start looking."
no subject
"Oh, so you would miss me if I suddenly went missing. It's good to know my effect on others is cross-dimensional."
no subject
"That's not what I-" He stopped in mid-sentence, sighed, and resisted the urge to run a hand over his face. "Never mind."
no subject
Sure, he hadn't said anything, but that was also because he didn't want a lecture about that either.
But he also hadn't expected to get attacked and hurt the way he did. What he expected was for Megatron to be eaten by some big creature. Unfortunately that did not happen and the former did.
"I think this makes us even. You didn't tell me the second time you left."
no subject
"This isn't---" Huffing, Jetfire shook his helm and reached out to carefully trail a finger down the injured wing. "Because of how you reacted the first time I tried to tell you. And from an angle of the time we've each been gone, yes, I suppose it makes us... 'even'."
If he'd been someone else, he'd probably have rolled his optics at that. Starscream, honestly.
"But if we're keeping a tally, I'm quite sure we'd have to work backwards for a really long time. Either way, it'd have been... less stressful if you'd told me since then I'd know you hadn't just disappeared."
And he didn't come back injured either of those times.
no subject
"Fine. Just stop yelling at me."
His words were pretty much Starscream speak for 'I'm not really listening, but I'm agreeing so you'll stop talking.'
"Besides, isn't what happened punishment enough? It's not like I can do much for awhile." Except complain a lot, which he was so going to do.
no subject
And more complaining.
"No, you've obviously done enough, though I wasn't aware expressing concern and wanting to know beforehand you leave that you are leaving could be considered punishment," said Jetfire tightly as he shortly paced the room before taking a moment to go lean against the desk on the opposite side.
Some distance might be required, though he knew exactly how this would go; he had been around Starscream when he was injured before after all.
"So what happened? That can't have been the result of a crash." Too neat of an injury.
no subject
"I got ambushed by a group of creatures."
Really, it was just one.
"I managed to defeat all of them, but one of them still hit me."
He huffed and folded his arms across his chest.
"But then I obliterated all of them in revenge!"
Jetfire could probably pick out what is true in that story.
no subject
A group? Probably not, but possibly two, and at least one to injure him.
"Only one major injury is, if nothing else, a relief, or just you being lucky." Huffing, Jetfire eyed Starscream before he sighed. He was relieved Starscream want worse off... or gone.
"That doesn't look like it was made by a blaster though, some form of bladed weapon? And given that... Either it was large or could fly, since otherwise you'd be able to avoid it."
no subject
He grumbled to himself something about how if he didn't hurt he'd get up and show Jetfire a thing or two. Maybe.
Or he'd just sit there and complain more.
Probably that.
"They were rather large, yes. Bigger than you."
Maybe.
no subject
"No. I know how your fighting skills are, so why should I? That doesn't mean you can't be surprised or over-powered." Giving Starscream a look, helm tilted, he nonetheless didn't mention Sunstorm, or Megatron... or even himself, since he could overpower Starscream if he got close enough.
"They, then." He could indulge him. "Like the largest, er... centipedes we had invading a while ago?"
no subject
"Something like that. The further out into the badlands you get, the bigger and nastier things are."
Then then shifted with an annoyed grunt.
"Unfortunately nothing managed to consume Megatron."
no subject
He was still frustrated Starscream hadn't said anything.
"Which means whatever they are and if anyone's in charge, they might be holding back." Frowning, Jetfire hoped that wasn't the case as he stared down at Starscream's helm without actually seeing it. Because if the creatures were holding back, regardless of the Firstforged around... what would happen when they attacked?
"... I'm not sure if I should agree that's unfortunate or not," Jetfire said, optics flickering a little as Starscream's comment snapped him out of his thoughts. "If only because one more on 'our' side, however nominal that is... On the other hand, it is a Megatron. He'd probably get stuck half-way down." He shouldn't, but he smiled anyway and tapped the top of one of Starscream's shoulder vents idly.
no subject
He huffed and draped onto Jetfire even more almost like a big and bulky metal blanket. Maybe he should have told Jetfire, but ... He'd never admit to that anyway.
At least it was all over with and he made it out alive, and he certainly wasn't doing that ever again.
Unless he had backup the next time.
"I think I'm going to die."
no subject
Which was even easier to do considering the way Starscream was draped over him, but after a week, Jetfire wasn't precisely inclined to complain about it. At least not yet.
He did snort at Starscream's whining, however, optics flickering.
"I'd like to point out that you've sustained far more severe damage and even gotten less repairs as quickly as you got this, I believe, and still survived." It was funny, in a way, being back in this situation...
Though back when he'd been in the Decepticons, he hadn't really had Starscream draped over him... it was actually an improvement.
no subject
But he otherwise didn't move. Not yet at least. Jetfire was stuck with his robotic-seeker-leech for awhile.
"How do you know? You're not a medic. I could still waste away while I'm laying here. What would you do then?"
He pointed a finger up at the larger Autobot's face because he totally needed to do that to prove his point.
no subject
"Admittedly not, but I'm reasonably... ah, familiar with your frame," he might have paused just momentarily, he might not. Quite familiar indeed. "And it's gone long enough that if you'd been exposed to a poison, unknown corrosive or a virus, the chance is that it'd be obvious by now."
The finger got a look and Jetfire snorted, folding Starscream's hand in his own and then pulling it down before letting go.
"Find a medic. Keep you as comfortable as would be possible."
Worry. But well, that was a given.
no subject
Starscream huffed in his usual way before straightening up ... only to plop back down on the berth in the most over-dramatic fashion ever.
Because he was dying.
Or actually because he was melodramatic.
"Why does everything hurt."
Of course he knew the answer to that, but he was still going to whine about it anyway.
no subject
Or if he thought things were getting worse at all. Presently, however, all he could see was Starscream's usual... shenanigans. Jetfire shook his helm and shuffled up a bit further, so he could sit more comfortably on the berth, briefly moving Starscream's legs out of the way before putting them down again.
"I believe injuries come with some amount of pain from abused, misaligned or destroyed sensor nodes, to alert you to the fact that you are injured..." Then, his expression softened and he laid a hand on the nearest bit of white armour.
"Is it worse than before?" Because well. Annoyed or not, he hardly wanted Starscream to offline or anything similar.
no subject
Jetfire had a big head after all.
But in any case -- in response to the question, Starscream dramatically turned over again.
"Would I be complaining if it wasn't?"
It wasn't, and he totally was complaining just because he could.
no subject
It was more the cotinuing overdramatic flopping about that convinced Jetfire Starscream wasn't hurting as much as he claimed he was, than any actual lack of concern. Because really, he was concerned, but Starscream required some amount of interpretation.
"I think you would be... ah, moving about less if it was." Jetfire shook his helm and kept his grin under control and if the pain really was worse, he'd probably be complaining even more...
Since Starscream knew he could do that, with him. Which was a bit frustrating and annoying perhaps, but at least he could temporarily leave if it became too annoying.
no subject
Which meant Starscream could start arguing about how he might hurt no matter if he moved or stayed still. But that probably wasn't the case either. And Starscream was just still being Starscream.
"But we'll talk about my constant discomfort later," he said finally dismissing the idea of repeated complaining.
"How long do you suppose I'll be unable to fly?"
no subject
Shaking his helm, Jetfire bent forward at actually get a closer look at the injured wing, running a finger along it once more.
"Well, if we had access to a CR chamber, you'd undoubtedly be happier. But considering the type of injury, it's all a question of how soon the wing would be able to carry you without... er, snapping, though the lift should assist in stability, and thus protect it somewhat, but that's when you're already in the air and flying at speed..."
Shrugging, Jetfire knew Starscream wouldn't like the conclusion to his cursory analysis, but then, who liked to be grounded?
"I'd give it several days, at the least."
