ADVENTURE! ＼（＾∀＾）メ（＾∀＾）ノ

WHO: Ambulon, Drift, Pharma, First Aid (feel free to take your time since y'got another log goin'! :D)
WHERE: About a half-mile outside Nexus Prime's temple.
WHEN: Not long after Ambulon's first post.
WHAT: Ambulon enlists Drift as a guide to seek out First Aid at Ratchet's temple, and hopefully meets up with Pharma as well.
WARNINGS: Nothing really, I'd imagine?

There was still a rational amount of hesitation keeping him back.

Ambulon turned and studied his chambers for the nth time - they weren't kidding when they said it'd be "compact". He couldn't spend the rest of his life here; as concerned as he was about this "Cybertron", he wasn't going to lock himself up like a coward. Ambulon had to make himself useful, if only just to keep his mind from falling to pieces.

Though he wished he had a weapon. All he came with was Rung's report on First Aid. Ambulon stared at it on the slab-bed, before quickly retrieving it. Well, if anything, it was heavy enough to knock someone over the head with. War or no war, Ambulon was cautious.

After sending the coordinates to Drift, he waited a moment. Paced as he thought about all the transmissions he received, those he sent. Decepticons, Autobots, neutrals, none of the above; quite a collection "Cybertron" had going. However, Ambulon at least knew Pharma and First Aid were here. Ratchet was an extra bonus, even if this Ratchet wasn't "his" Ratchet. Drift seemed like a trustworthy ally, he supposed.

A few more minutes, and then Ambulon was on his way. Moving carefully around the crater impressions in the ground, all the while both admiring and studying this strange place. It didn't take too long to arrive at the coordinates. Ambulon kept to the shadows; he didn't care if he appeared conspicuous. He just preferred not to be noticed.

"I'll be fine. It's Pharma's cure, and he does good work."

Drift half-transformed, and then realized Ambulon wasn't. UH. Okay. Awkward. He pushes back up.

"You're right. It's a nice day for a walk."

Ambulon blinked and glanced back to Drift. "Oh," he said a moment later, swished his hand. "You don't have to stay in bipedal mode, you know. I mean, on foot, I'm not as fast as I would be in alt mode, but uh..." He tapped his chin and strolled forward. "My alt mode isn't that fast, either, so you know." Ambulon snickered and added, jokingly, "Unless you want me to ride on top of you." For now, Drift didn't need to know that he transformed into a leg. Maybe - maybe at a more appropriate time. Yeah.

"No, it's fine." He gives a dismissive shrug. "Walking's just as good. It's not far. And we can maybe, you know, talk." He offers a grin.

"So, how'd you like Delphi? Uh, before, well, yeah, Delphi."

Ambulon smirked and followed alongside him. Ah, good, no questions then. He thought a moment about Drift's question, debating the proper answer. "It was... a lot of work," he said finally, "but I enjoyed it." He shrugged. "Sometimes Pharma was ridiculously stubborn and some of the staff insufferable at times, but you take the good with the bad. So, I can't complain."

Ambulon frowned and glanced back at Drift. "That bad, huh? I'm just imagining the place a pile of fiery cinders. I feel like apologizing, though; what you saw... Well, the clinic needed improvements and it occasionally had its moments of downtime, but I can assure you, it was a nice place before what you saw."

He winced, and again, was hesitant to speak. But, he had to know.

"What... did you see?"

Drift nods. "Sometimes being busy is a good thing. Especially when you're helping."

They walk along for a few moments while he considers. But the truth was always good, and Ambulon looked like a mech who didn't want or need sugar coating.

"There was a plague. Nearly everyone was dying. Except you and First Aid and Pharma. We'd come to investigate because we'd gotten a weird signal."

Ambulon sighed then groaned. He pinched the bridge of his nose. "What a mess," he grumbled, then shook his head. "Part of me is morbidly interested learning about the properties and affects of this plague, and why I was immune. Curse of medical curiosity." He was almost tempted to ask what happened to Drift; what the virus did to his body, but knew that was probably a very sensitive subject. Especially since it seemed still somewhat fresh. "I'm just going to assume everything turned out all right, since there was a cure and all. Gotta think positive."

Ambulon huffed. "So, how long have you been here?" he inquired. "Anything I should know about that the drones may not?"

"Mess is a pretty good word for it." It had been messy. Yeah. Really messy. Like puddles of rust everywhere messy.

"I don't remember, but there was something about maybe medics--forged medics or something--being immune. Ratchet had no symptoms either." So that had to be it. But he gives a shrug, because he's not sure how useful that is.

"I don't know what happened back there. I...think I died." And then someone snatched his blades and cut off Pharma's hands.

"I've been here since, well, a bunch of us woke up together. And I'm not sure what the acolytes can tell you: we each are marked by one of these First Forged, but Vector Prime told me that they had no connection to why we were brought here. Which sounds...weird."

"I think the only way I'm going to get clear and decisive answers is from Pharma," Ambulon said, massaging at the edges of his yellow optics. "And this entire place seems like one giant puzzle. No one really knows exactly what is going on. Maybe these Firstforged, but it feels like they're a little clueless about some things, too." He tapped the glyph on his arm. "I don't know if it's easier to imagine falling here's just a big fluke or if there's some grand purpose in the design of all things."

Ambulon gave a frustrated meeeeeh, throwing down his hands.

"Just hope this places is safer than the world back home."

Though...

"Drift," he said, after a moment's repose. Ambulon's optics were trained on the ground, watching each step forward. "I don't know if it's just me or whatever, but... It seems whenever I bring up Pharma, the reactions are a little... confusing. Like, I'm not sure what exactly it is, but," he finally met the white mech's gaze, "I feel there's something I'm missing. I know I'm, well, missing a lot, but... I just can't shake the feeling."

Drift nods. "I hope so. I think Pharma is frustrated with me because I don't know medicine. He'll welcome someone to talk shop to." It almost sounds like he knows Pharma, right?

~~Well, maybe SG Pharma.~~

"You have us to protect you here. Mechs like me."

Drift stops, frowning. "Confusing, how?"

"There's a lot of fields associated with medicine, and it can get pretty complicated," Ambulon explained, chortling, "but if you know basic first aid, you're good in my book."

It didn't take long for that quirk of amusement to fade. "Ah, yes, well..." He clasped his hands behind his back, staring hard at the ground. "I'm not sure what, exactly, but it seems Pharma's not very popular here. I know he doesn't have the best bedside manner, but..." He shrugged. "Maybe it's just me." Tapped a fist to his head. "Glitch or somethin' from the sudden trans-dimensional warp and all."

Drift gives a rueful grin. "I imagine it's pretty complicated to put us back together again." He's been through it enough times.

The smile slips. "Why wouldn't they like him? Pharma is a little upset, I mean, he's missing his hands. That's got to be unsettling, right?"

"You think you're injured?" Drift gives Ambulon a worried look. He's no medic, but everything looks okay.

"I hope it has something to do with the"--pauses to gesticulate--"hands. Though that's related to the reason. I just want to know what happened to him, and if he... If he made it out all right with only his hands missing." He shook his head. Really, he thought he'd just be satisfied having survived this apparent plague at Delphi, but...

"And no, no, I'm fine. As fine as we all can be." It feels very much like "Alice in Wonderland" in here all the sudden. He snorted. Like ~~Whirl~~ someone is going to pop in and proclaim everyone as mad. "Sorry to burn your audios with my nonsensical musing and fretting."

Drift shakes his head. "I don't know. I think he might have had the plague himself. I know he really doesn't like not having hands but, in your profession, who would be?"

A shrug. "In my profession, too, for that matter."

"Besides, it's almost a requirement of Autobot medics to be a little, you know," he pauses, trying to find a diplomatic word, "gruff." Except for First Aid, and First Aid was only a nurse, so....that still worked.

"If I can help you settle in here, let me know." He offers a smile. "It's good to see a familiar face."

"'Gruff' is a bit of an understatement," Ambulon snorted. "You know, once I caught First Aid calling me a 'gearstick'." Look at his VERY DISPLEASED scowl. "Just because I like to keep everything nice and in order; I can be stern, but that's part of the job." He gave a small 'huff' and glanced around. "Well, hopefully my being here can help give him a..." Yeah, he's not gonna say 'hand' because yeah.

Yes, understatement, but Drift didn't want to be, you know, blunt.

...that is a fearsomely displeased scowl, yes. Drift is impressed. "Well, some patients can be kind of difficult. I imagine they need to be, you know, handled kind of sternly."

Like himself, for example. Not that he's going to volunteer that.

Oh Drift's stumbled from the hand references, himself. Yeah, good idea to avoid those. "I'm sure he'd appreciate the company and a like-minded mech."

"If this place is any indication of the type of general attitude around here," Ambulon said, frowned, "then I think I may need to rough handle patients again in the near future." He turned to Drift, cycling air. "If not, I guess I'll go offer my services to Ratchet. Can't just sit on my hands the entire time I'm here." NOW he can make hand jokes.

"It's a bad habit to break, Ambulon."

A little wince, because Drift is likely to be one of those patients.

And yes he'd probably need rough handling.
