PF Evaluation

WHO: Rung and Prowl
WHERE: Rung's Office
WHEN: BACKDATED to March 23-ish. Shortly after Prowl's arrival
WHAT: Part of joining the PF involves a Psychological exam. Fun insues.
WARNINGS: Dangerous amounts of sass.

Honestly? Prowl had found the entire proceedings of his acceptance in the Police Force to be rather trivial. Almost everyone here knew his track record. He'd been in this line of work since before the war. An evaluation was almost redundant. But it was a minor delay, so he went forward with the protocol without any complaint.

That's how he ended up at the other end of Rung's desk, hands folded and face as stony and cold as ever. Looks like his arrival hadn't shaken his detached foundation much. He seemed ready and able to simply readjust and excel in this new environment, as he always did. If his predictions were correct (and they usually are), this little obstacle should come and go in less than an hour.

If Rung were going to be completely honest, this was one evaluation he didn't want to do. It was bad enough that Prowl was here but having to actually be alone in the same room with him? This was one of those things that got on the therapist's nerves and tempted his anger.

Because Prowl was one of those individuals that Rung couldn't really stand.

But he had a job to do and he was going to do it, the therapist seated behind his desk--as professional as ever--hands clasped together and resting in his lab after he turned his recording unit on.

"What makes you think you'd be a good choice for the police force, Prowl," Rung asked, carefully and easily hiding all of his dislike away for the time being.

"Why?"

He wants to hear your reasoning, Prowl. There's no doubt that Rung agrees with you, but he wants to hear you break it down; explain your reasoning and why you think it's so just.

Because he needs to know how your head works and what you're seeing in Haven.

"Is this about lending your experience or moreso working your way up into a higher position of authority?" Rung asked, his expression staying neutral but there's something in the words.

He knows how you work, Prowl. He's seen it before. You like to have control and be in command.

"Haven is much different from our home. While there are incidents here, a military mindset isn't exactly the best approach to things. Is that something you can set aside or is viewing individuals as pieces in the bigger game something that you will continue even here?"

"I'm glad to hear that."

But that doesn't mean he necessarily believes it. It's hard to forget the way things went down back in their home universe, specifically what happened with Kup.

Rung's never really going to forgive you for that, Prowl.

"Why this cause though?" he asks, optic ridge arching just a touch as he watches Prowl. "You've never seemed the type for peace and quiet, Prowl, and, as I recall, even in acts of good will on your part there has been a much darker motive underneath it."

Rung's optics outright narrowed at that, the therapist leaning back in his seat as he propped his elbows on the arms of his chair and linked his fingers together.

"Did it? Because I'm fairly certain implanting a control chip, or whatever it was that you did, inside Kup then using him to destroy invading forces wasn't necessary in the least," he said coldly. Oh yes, he found out about what you did Prowl. People talk, especially to a therapist after all.

"Unless I'm mistaken and that's the way we Autobots do things now."

"No, what you did was abuse your power and manipulate those around you for your own purposes," Rung shot back, still collected and calm but his words had more of a bite to them now.

In the right mood, he can give as good as he gets and this is a prime example.

"You implanted a control chip in Kup without his knowledge under the guise of givin him a New frame and a new chance. And it's not the first time you've treatedd those around you like pawns nor, I'm sure, will it be the last. You have no compassion for your fellow Autobots and if they aren't useful to you anymore, you brush them aside," he continued, optics narrowing.

"I'm fairly certain Garrus 9 is a prime example of that."

Rung's more than happy to take that dare, Prowl. Don't you worry.

"ThAt you think are necessary, Prowl, let's be honest. You aren't in this for the Autobot cause, at least not in the way you seem to want others to think you are. This entire war is a game for you, a test of your abilities and you use it to hone your technique. Each sacrifice you apparently make, each supposed hard decision is just a new tactic in your strategy game. There's a reason command was never handed off to you, at least not fully."

Keep making jabs at his lack of battle expertise. If that's really all you have then you have a very weak argument, Prowl.

"I want the best for everyone here in Haven and personally I do not you're the best at all. You are mediocre, if anything but ultimately the decision is no mine and I am well aware of that," he said with a slight shrug, lowering his hands. "But fighter or not, I will not stand by and let you play your games here, Prowl."

And to that, Rung outright scoffs.

"For someone who disliked the war so much, you've certainly done nothing productive to end it. Though, it does explain quite a bit. Your hate for this entire war drives you to do whatever is necessary to end conflict. Or puttin things Out of sight and out of mind, as was the case with Garrus 9. Anything or anyone that would result in further conflict was dealt with quickly and swiftly. How unfortunate for you that the majority of your attempts only further the war," Rung said easily, folding his hands together in his lap.

"I pity you, Prowl. I really do. For someone who puts up such a front and tries showed, you accomplish so little."
