WHO: Chromedome and Rewind
WHERE: Starting at HQ and then probably to Alpha Trion's
WHEN: Shortly after Chromedome`s arrival

It felt good to see Rewind again. For Chromedome, it had only been about an hour, but it might as well have been a week with how things were going so far. Honestly, he wasn't sure how he felt about this new Cybertron. It's been forever since he last saw his home planet so new and whole.

Chromedome felt his mind drifting away to the old Cybertron as he leaned against the doorway and waited for Rewind. He wasn't sure why, but something about setting out to make a place for him and Rewind left him feeling very calm and content, despite his initial misgivings about this place. There was so much wrong here, but the chance to live peacefully with Rewind, as short as it'll probably be, was too nice to pass up.

Hopefully they can enjoy themselves here.

It took awhile for Rewind to get there. Because...when you're a giant memory stick, alt mode travel just didn't happen. Thankfully, Magnus had given him a ride to at least Prima's quadrant, so with some patience, Rewind makes his way towards the HQ, looking as chipper as ever. The week without Chromedome had been a strange one, to say the least...

"Domey!"

Well, that's a dead giveaway to who was coming. Rewind wasted no time in rushing over, looking up at his favourite bot. And if you looked closely enough, those optics were glittering behind that visor.

"You made it!"

Chromedome's mopiness seems to evaporate the moment he lays eyes on Rewind. How can he remain gloomy in the all-powerful presence that is his partner?

"Rewind!"

They were alone, so Chromedome saw no problem with kneeling down and scooping up the smaller Autobot into a hug.

Rewind notices the behavioral change in his friend, but makes no comment on it. Sometimes things were best appreciated without saying. Nonetheless, when he's picked up, he can't help but immediately sit back on that arm the lifted him.

His smaller arms wrap around his neckline, nuzzling his helm in close.

"Miss me?"

"Always."

Chromedome accepts he nuzzle and is content to hold Rewind close to him for a few more moments. It felt good to have him here. He eventually puts the smaller Autobot down.

"So, I guess we need to figure out where we're living for... however long we're here."

[flashdrive]

"I was thinking of staying with Alpha Trion. Did you know he has a full, public library? And that's not even scratching the SURFACE! The link, Domey. It's FULL of stuff!

Stuff from even before I came!"

He's going to start walking towards the Trionic Temple, a spring in his step. Nothing like new material to jump start your inspiration.

"It definitely sounds like we're going to spending a lot of time in there."

Chromedome follows behind, allowing Rewind to take the lead. He somehow forgot that they'd have to walk the entire way, and inwardly groans at the amount of time it was probably going to take. Overall though, he doesn't mind. It's not like they have important business or anything.

"Naturally. If I could get an uplink cable into something...maybe I could download it all."

The walking was second nature to Rewind, so it doesn't even cross his mind. By now, he'd forgotten that most Cybertronians DO transform for long distance. Or at least until reminded.

"No one's going to believe this when we get back."

[needlefingers]

"No, and it's probably a good thing if they don't." Chromedome takes time now to observe his surroundings. The air is very calm and almost peaceful. Something he hasn't come across in a very long time. He doesn't trust it at all.

"Prowl is setting up a Forensic investigations thing with the police force, and he said that he'd like me to join. Since it's just investigations, I figured I should go for it."

Chromedome figures he should get that out as soon as possible.

And Rewind stops dead in his tracks. Oh, he knew Prowl was here, from a brief scan of the Link. But Chromedome and Prowl together were a match he didn't want in the slightest. Or rather, would hope Chromedome would avoid.

Not that he overly disliked Prowl as a bot, it's just he tended to manipulate. And Chromedome was often that victim.

"JUST investigations?"

Look at that visor narrowing.

And that's how Chromedone knows that he's in trouble.

"JUST investigations.

I promise, that's all it'll ever be."

[flashdrive]

"Just investigation. No Mnemosurgery.

No matter WHAT."

FINGERPOINT. Gosh Rewind, you're like a Chihuahua trying to be a Great Dane.

"And you promise this."

[needlefingers]

"I promise this. I hope that I can do things here that doesn't involve... that. That would... make me feel somewhat happy I guess."

And some part of him knows that that's not going to happen.

"It'll be just investigations. If Prowl tries to pressure for more, then he can go frag himself."

Simple as that.

[flashdrive]

Rewind remains motionless for a moment, studying Chromedome as if judging that for authenticity. ...Before he seems to perk up. If Chromedome was that true to his word...

Rewind had to believe him, right?

"Good. I'm holding you to that, Domey."

That red light's on and everything.

Chromedome nods and continued walking along. It definitely feels good to get that out of the way, the longer he held onto the more he felt he was keeping it from Rewind. Evidence to the contrary, he didn't want to keep secrets from his partner.

More than necessary that is.

"So, Cybertron. A lot nicer than our own huh? Besides being underdeveloped, what do you think is different about it? Any ideas?"

[flashdrive]

That made Rewind think as they continued to walk. What was different? A lot. "Well for one...I don't remember any FirstForged being a thing. I mean, not from what's in my databanks. Alpha Trion was more of a guy than a...god, you know?"
