Pharma instructed his acolyte to set the final vial in the test tube rack and sat back, staring at the mess that now occupied his desk. He hated a messy work station. The acolyte would just have to take care of that too. Speaking of the silent robed figure, it really needed a name... it was getting awkward just addressing it as 'acolyte'. The medic wondered briefly how it would react to being called 'First Aid'?

For now, he had nothing more to do until his test patient returned. Perhaps he'd go explore some more of the temple...

"Mm." Knock Out shrugs again. A fellow Autobot might have pressed for more details, but not Knock Out. He saves his sentimentality for himself and his partner. "I'm sure you'll figure it out," he says finally, and that's about as far as he's willing to go with it.

Unbeknownst to Knock Out, Drift is a former fellow Decepticon.

...probably still wouldn't make the medic more sympathetic.

"I hope I do. Without anyone dying this time." Well, he's brought a puddle of emo, as well as rust, to this conversation. Time to lighten things up!

"So, uh. You don't live here. At Liege's." Because he can see your mark and it's not the one Pharma has.

Knock Out can sense that he's treading awful close to deep waters here-- and he's really not interested in plunging in. Sorry Drift, he's a doctor, not a therapist. (You're looking for someone a little more orange for that.)

So he's more than willing to jump on that change of subject. "No, I don't~. I'm with Solus." He touches the glyph on his arm lightly, but there's no sign of how unhappy he still is to be bearing an adornment against his will. "Her temple's southwest of here."

Rung might appreciate a patient who doesn't have violence issues, this is true.

Drift looks up, getting his bearings. Southwest. Got it. You never know when that will be useful.

"What's Solus do?" Drift brushes his own glyph, the only thing about him NOT streaked with rust. Yay, cleanspot!

"She seems to be something of a smith," Knock Out says. "I've never seen so many forges in one place than at her temple." And he's only seem the Refugee-scaled ones that are open for those aligned with her to use; he knows there are more workshops, deeper, but they aren't open to him and the opportune moment to explore where he's not allowed hasn't come up yet.

"Forges." Forges. Like the forged mechs of his world. That gets a fanboyish sort of 'so cool!' reaction.

But wait. "Sh-she?"

He nods. "That's right, 'she'."

Drift gets (vaguely) the concept of 'she' when it comes to humans. He's seen them. Vaguely and from a distance.

But there's only one 'she' Cybertronian, and as far as he knows, she's, uh, how to put this delicately? A little insane.

"Are you sure you're safe there?" Suddenly those 'forges' seem kind of malign.

"Why wouldn't I be?" Knock Out asks, quizzical. Cybertronians identifying as 'she' are, of course, more common where he comes from-- if a bit prone to violence. Really, if anything, Solus seems a lot more even-tempered than the ferocious fighting Autobot Arcee or that vicious wretch Airachnid, something that Knock Out certainly appreciates.

"Female?"

Does he have to explain more? Oh, he'll try.

"Female is a failed experiment of Jhiaxus." Come to think of it, a lot of Jhiaxus's experiments were pretty failtastic. "She's...," how to put this politely, because she is a fellow Autobot, "she's been fitted with a device to crush her spark chamber. For everyone's safety."

"...Well." This is clearly news to Knock Out. "I'm going to take a shot sensor-blind here and guess that things where you come from are a bit different than where I come from. For one thing, we have more than one 'she'. There's two on Earth alone."

There is only one question to ask at this point.

"...how much of this 'Earth' is there left?" Because females are like Autobot Phase Sixers. That's his theory, he's sticking to it.

"Most of it?" Knock Out shrugs. "They're fierce, of course, but they're not that--"

He cuts off abruptly. 'Not that powerful'? But Airachnid was powerful enough to tear his partner limb from limb, and to keep a swarm of Insecticons in line on top of that. He frowns and looks away, not interested in finishing that that thought.

Huh. Females must be weaker in his world. That was almost a relief. And that meant, that hopefully this Solus wasn't a time bomb of crazy waiting to go off.

"...unbalanced?" he supplies, helpfully. "Just be careful around this Solus." Because you never know.

"Unbalanced," he agrees, seizing on the descriptor eagerly. He pushes past the melancholy, burying it out of sight, and nods. "I was already planning on it. I don't think it particularly wise to let our guard down around any of these FirstForged Primes, hes and shes alike."

Hey now, Liege seems all right! A little prone to shaking Drift like a ragdoll, but, well, that was probably how their kind showed affection.

Still, Drift lowers his voice to Conspiracy Theory levels. "You think they're hiding stuff from us?"

That's all right! I've been slow myself, obviously, so sorry for that, ffff.

Though Knock Out's always a sucker for a little bit of conspiring, he doesn't actually have anything concrete to go on here. Still, he leans in towards Drift and drops his own volume. "I just think it behooves us to be... cautious~," he says. "After all, what have we got to go on but their word when it comes to all the peculiarities of this particular Cybertron, hm?"

That...is an excellent point. Though Drift wants to take them at their words, well...Liege is hiding something from him. And who knows what else the others might?

"....you mean you think this may be our Cybertron? One of ours?"

"I don't know what to think," Knock Out admits with a shrug. "All I know is what they've told us, and I don't intend to blindly believe that until I've turned up some corroborating evidence."

"But..." But Vector stopped the Red Rust from advancing. Without that intervention, Drift would be dead.

"But they have powers, at least. Things I've never seen in my world." He's not sure what to make of that, but it's some kind of evidence.

Of something.

I don't think I've ever had those but they sound good.

"What, no Unicron in your world?" Knock Out hasn't seen all of direct evidence of Unicron's powers himself, but he's seen enough-- like how the dark stuff effects anyone it's exposed to. And he's read the reports on how Unicron was able to manifest avatars of himself out of the living rock.

The tricks and abilities of these Firstforged don't necessarily surprise him.

"...Well, that answers that question." Knock Out considers for a moment how best to put this. "He's one of those, y'know--" He waggles his fingers through the air. "--unspeakable-patron-of-chaos-and-violence types. The one at the center of the earth, to be precise."

"Oh. We had one of those." Don't make him say his name, please don't. It's too stupid. "Except more like the center of his whole dimension and he wanted to get into ours."

"Sounds like something of a different situation, but the basic concept is the same." He frowns thoughtfully. "We had Firstforged on our Cybertron too-- or so all the old stories say. The first children of Primus and whatnot. Everyone says they helped him defeat Unicron, but that doesn't mean I'm going to throw my lot in with these without a little bit of reservation."
