Hangin' out [open]
Who: Wing and anyone who wants to drop by (but especially aimed at those he promised to call and meet up with later)
Where: The Hub's bar and likely various other places around the city, feel free to say where you want to meet him.
When: All week.
What: Meeting up with anyone who wants to come have a drink with the knight.
Warnings: Drinking and anything others might bring.
Over the next week, Wing would be spending a lot of time in the bar, or meeting people in various places. Some he promised to contact later the day he arrived, he would be calling each of them over the next few days, looking forward to meeting up with them and getting to know them.
Whether meeting in the bar, or coming across someone in the city, Wing was always one to greet the other with a grin. Hello, Haven, come meet this derpy hippie knight.

And so he was here. Sitting at the bar, staring into his half-finished drink as if it would somehow give him the answers he sought. And very much not sulking, thank you. No matter how much it seemed that that was exactly what he was doing.

He looked up at the other mech. The stranger was obviously a flier of some sort, but of a different style than Jadewing had ever seen. Not that that was much of a surprise around here in this place of overlapping universes.
"Mmm...", Jadewing finally said, a noncommittal noise of acknowledgement. "Not lost. Just having a drink, and doing some thinking. Those two things seem to go well together."
Jadewing wasn't the type to drink with the specific coal of getting overcharged outside a party. But the highgrade, in moderation, was bracing, and the inhibitions-dulling effects made it harder for him to deceive himself. Not that he didn't still unconsciously try to do so anyway; the highgrade just made it more difficult.

He wanted to ask the Seeker what was wrong, what had him so worried or upset, so deep in thought and looking so lost, but that could wait. Besides, he would likely be more open to accepting friendly help if he knew Wing's name. And there were better ways to ask questions than outright prying like that.

"'Wing'?", he asked. "That's it? Just 'Wing'?" And he'd thought his name was uncreative.
"Mine's Jadewing," he said. "Not much better, I know. But it was the best I could come up with."

At Wing's question, though, he simply shrugs slightly. "It's a free planet." Translation: no, he doesn't mind.

"But yeah, I know him. He was my superior officer back home." Here, Jadewing didn't know how to classify him. Which only added to the general weirdness.

Hence the
notsulking, brooding over a drink. Because that always works so well as a method of problem solving.no subject
Wing was always one to try to help, it's what his life was about. So he's going to try to help.

"What sorts of things do you enjoy doing?" Aside from flying, flying for a Seeker was obvious.

The question of what he liked to do, provoked a bit of actual thought, though. "Fullstasis," he replied after a moment. "Dunno if anybody around here has a board, though. Sparring practice, provided my partner isn't a total aft. Few other things too, but I can't do them here, for various reasons. Why?"
no subject
"Don't know, perhaps you'll have to ask around, or check the Junk Pile for a board, apparently many things are dropped there."
It's the mention of sparring practice that gets a curious headtilt from Wing. "Found a sparring partner yet?" And if Jadewing thinks that sounds like an offer, it's because it is. An offer coming from a rather small flier, but still an offer. Bigger opponents didn't put Wing off at all, they tended to underestimate him the most.

"Could probably make a set if there's none around," he said. "It's not really that hard to put a basic set together, with enough basic materials." He just hadn't really done so because again, finding someone to play against would require actual socializing.
The offer of acting as a sparring partner got a raised optic ridge though. Jadewing gave wing an appraising look, sizing him up. Smaller size tended to mean greater agility, though it also tended to mean sacrificing strength and durability to a certain degree. But one never knew what sort of mods a bot might have to compensate for such.
"You mind hand-to hand?", Jadewing finally asked. "I don't really do swords."

He held still as the Seeker eyed him, sizing him up. He'd be right in his assumption of great agility, and while he wasn't the strongest mech out there, he certainly had skill in using the strength of others against them.
"Not at all. No weapons, and...keep to the ground to start with?"
no subject
"And yeah, ground based to start," he said. "Til I have a better idea how your armor compares to Seeker armor." Seeker arm weapons had a practice setting, but it was designed for practicing against other Seekers. What would only sting a Seeker, maybe scorch paint a little with a good hit, might well do more damage to a more lightly armored bot.Which while in the air, could be very dangerous.

He nodded to the later about sparring. "Name the time and place. We'll see what the other is capable of."

"You want to lead, since you're one of Vector's?"

Jadewing followed Wing outside, taking off and transforming before settling comfortably into a place just slightly behind and to the right of Wing for the duration of the flight. Not the position of a wing-second, as he might have taken up with Thundercracker; this was much more casual, and not really a proper formation at all.
Jadewing wasn't worried about being held up anyway; it wasn't as if they were on a deadline, after all. He allowed Wing to set the pace, holding his position until they arrived at Vector's training grounds. Where he transformed and landed, looking around a little.
