WHO: Skyfire and you!
WHERE: Every lab in the Haven
WHEN: During the event (for simplicity's sake, let's assume different threads take place at different times)
WHAT: Skyfire is affected by orange energon and everybody else's lab equipment is starting to look very, very tempting.
WARNINGS: None
Skyfire couldn't help what he was doing. In fact, it might be more accurate to say that he hadn't even stopped to think about it. All he knew was that he needed to get things. There were all kinds of instruments he simply had to have and the ones on the Junkpile wouldn't do.
Sharing with Jetfire wasn't good enough either. It should all belong to him! Not just what was in their shared lab, but in all of the others, too. Why not? He could see no reason against it.
So now he was trying to get into every laboratory he could find. Sneakily. You know, like only a giant shuttle could.

The mech seemed really excited at the chance to work and investigate freely with his equipment. Knock Out walked into the lab to see if the seeker was there or someone left the door open by accident.]
no subject
Skyfire didn't even look up to see who had walked in. He was too busy getting as many instruments as he could into his subspace.]
no subject
Knock out crosses his arms over his chest and stays on the door, blocking the exist.]
What do you think you are doing?
no subject
I'm taking my things.
no subject
Those aren't your things. Those are MY things. Stuff we need for the clinic, go find your own somewhere else.
no subject
[And he's going to keep merrily subspacing everything he can reach. Good luck, Knock Out.]
no subject
[And to prove that he brings out his prod.]
no subject
[Too bad he's trying to leave without giving any of your stuff back.]
no subject
[He will only warn you one more time, Skyfire, and that will be pointing the prod in your direction without firing it. Yet.] Put all that down.
no subject
But they're mine.
[And after that he'll just... keep on walking to leave the lab, or at least try to.]
no subject
But he has the feeling that it wouldn't help him if other people discovered about it, they could even kick him out the Defense committee. Besides, he can tell Skyfire is not 100% himself. He huffs, irritated.]
Why every time you and me talk something weird is happening to you?
no subject
There's nothing "weird" about this. I'm perfectly fine.
no subject
...
Did you found any crystals around, just like Power Joe?
no subject
I found these crystals. They're mine now.
no subject
Look I'm trying really hard to fight the urge to fry you Skyfire but you aren't making it easy.
no subject
Hey, I already told you I was leaving!
no subject
[He's mentally counting to stop himself from doing something violent.] Leave know before I change my mind but I WANT my things back eventually.
no subject
His biggest clue that something was wrong had happened immedately upon finding the white crystals - or rather, slightly after, trying to transform and leave the area. He'd done preliminary scans then, and had intended to go check things more thoroughly later but there'd been other issues that had popped up...
So it'd taken a while, but he was now walking into the lab and---
"... Skyfire?" The light had, of course, turned on when Jetfire came in, but it had been off prior to that, and why was Skyfire lurking in the lab in the dark?
no subject
"It's mine!" he snapped. "I have a right to take this. You can't stop me."
no subject
For half a second, Jetfire resisted the urge, and then just gave in and rubbed a hand over his mouth and chin. Apparently he (and some others, ahem) wasn't the only one in this lab having... ah, issues.
"... Perhaps you'd like to... ah, elaborate on how those are yours?" Jetfire's gaze flickered down to the tangle of instruments in Skyfire's arms and then up again and he had no idea how this would play out.
Most probably he'd just let Skyfire pass in the end and try to get it all back whenever this was fixed because it better be. But for now, he was standing at the only easily available exit - they really should consider an emergency exit, though.
no subject
That was all he said, eyeing Jetfire suspiciously, as if his friend was the one intruding. Which shouldn't give much hope of getting a reasonable explanation for him.
no subject
"Let's... ah, say they are. Need them for anything... specific?" He'll ask outright for strangely coloured energon if he has to, but he has the feeling that at this point, it'd be more about confirmation of their issues stemming from the same thing rather than an ability to do anything about it with the knowledge.
no subject
"I just need them. For work," he said. "I'm very busy. You should know that."
no subject
It didn't stop the next vent from coming out slightly slower than normal out of exasperation.
"Need them to analyse any differently coloured energon?" He would at least have - hopefully - some sort of response for this and possibly add more data to the current issue's possible conclusion.
no subject
Mostly because those crystals belonged to him, too.
"Why would you ask that?" he asked back, suddenly very suspicious. "It's mine. You're not getting it."
no subject
With a sigh, Jetfire held up his hands, palms out.
"I promise I won't... er, take what's yours. I have my own energon. I was just wondering if you'd seen any. If you do analyse it, could you perhaps tell me the results?" Though, as Skyfire was right now, Jetfire was pretty sure Skyfire would consider the results 'his' too and want to 'keep' it.
How frustrating.
no subject
"So you can take the credit for my research and hard work?" he huffed. "I don't think so."
no subject
And it had been a long time since he'd used it in relation to talking about 'stealing' somebody else's work.
"No, I'm not going to... er, steal your work or take credit for it, but since you aren't the only one afflicted, sharing it would be... useful." Why was he even trying to argue this rationally, since this wouldn't even lead to a Starscream-type admission, he was pretty sure.
no subject
"I'm not afflicted by anything," he insisted, still completely oblivious to the weirdness of the situation.
no subject
And not trying would be failing Skyfire as a friend, as he's pretty sure the mech would, if he was thinking in his usual processing streams, want the help, successful or not.
no subject
"I'm just trying to get some work done. I told you."
no subject
He doubts he'll get much further than this, but well. That pause was encouraging enough in itself.
no subject
Recent events were weighing more heavily on him than usual. Understandable, considering the "gift" the FirstForged dumped on him. But what else could he do, besides try and work on containing the problem?
Today, he'd forgotten to lock up, after Wheeljack went off on some errand or other. The door stood open, for now, while the tank tapped a few loose equations into his console, working them over with absent focus.
no subject
And there was someone else in here. Great.
no subject
"Jet... fire?"
The general build looked about the same. Even if the color scheme wasn't exact. For a second, something in his spark decided to rekindle. Someone... from home?
no subject
In normal circumstances, he would have been less blunt - it was an understandable assumption, after all. But right now, and under the orange energon's influence, he was on a mission. He just started to grab any and all instruments in his reach, without even the slightest explanation or excuse.
no subject
He could see it now. Foolish of him, really. Except that all took a backseat to the fact this stranger was suddenly collecting bits and pieces of his equipment. He straightened up.
"What on Cybertron do you think you're doing!"
no subject
"... taking my things," he said, without pausing for a second. "Of course."
Really, for him, this made perfect sense.
no subject
He was stepping around the console, now, striding up toward the shuttle, all irritable scientist. It didn't matter how large Skyfire was. Those were his instruments!
"This is not your lab, nor are those your things!"
no subject
Fortunately, he was so focused on grabbing as many instruments and tools as he could that it was clear he wasn't about to try to pick a fight. For the moment he only tried to ignore Perceptor and go on with his 'work'.
no subject
Shuttle or no, he saw nothing wrong with blustering forward, making shooing motions at the other bot. As if hand motions alone were going to solve this problem. Somehow.
no subject
"What are you doing?"
no subject
The shooing motions continued, as he took a few steps closer to the shuttle, still glowering at him.
"Attempting to remove you from my premises. Now... go!"
no subject
"Fine. I'll leave, don't worry," he sighed. "Just as soon as finish packing these."
no subject
He thumped a hand against the shuttle's plating, for emphasis. About as far as he was willing to go, in terms of physical altercation.
no subject
Not that he showed any sign of returning what he had already taken, either.
no subject
He stepped forward again, swatting at the shuttle now. "And return my things while you're at it!"
