Megatron holds his friend close, feeling his own ember quake in the pain he can hear from him. He also felt a tinge of pain, he may not have been able to prevent it, but he felt he should have been there to protect Soundwave. But that was nothing that Soundwave needed to deal with, so he quickly squashed the feelings of guilt for the time being and concentrated on taking care of his friend.

"Take your time," he says, encouraging him to let it out as it came. "It's the honor of a leader, and friend, to help those around him to carry what burdens exist in their lives." He added, hoping to ease any worry that Soundwave could have of putting too much on him.

He remembered what Optimus had said about the successes and failures of his subordinate. He remembered that he couldn't agree that while the former were attributed to a leader the latter were the individual's own. He felt that a leader and his subordinates shared all things equally, and this was the only way success could truly be obtained.
