The sudden attack from Soundwave's mind is like an electromagnetic force combined with sound. The intent is in part to harm and mostly to confuse, reaching out to scramble Wing's processor; main lines of coding and processes, the ability to walk, talk, and even think properly should be temporarily disabled.

What lingers with Wing, no doubt, is Soundwave's fear and panic of the pain endured.

It isn't until the act is done that Soundwave realizes, too late, what just happened.
