WHO: Arcee & Power Joe
WHERE: Arcee's place at Leige's temple
WHEN: Tonight
WHAT: Power Joe's date is not his date. :C!!
WARNINGS: Power Joe's extreme disappointment
There were few things that Arcee could find in common with this alternate... him, but at the very least tell that this Arcee was just as sneaky and cautious as he is. When he woke up in a well worn hideaway in the recesses of Leige's ceilings, all he had to clue him in where he was were a few scraps of belongings -- a keycode, a room number -- and the ever helpful information of Leige's drones.
He killed the one that pointed him to his room quickly, since it had been so kind to help him out.
This other Arcee was an abomination, he decided. He wasn't sure what exactly the other mech was, but as he read through her information and watched the records of her recordings, he at least had settled on that she was a crime against creation. Wherever she was -- she -- she was gone now at least. And good riddance.
In his research on the other inhabitants of the Haven, the temples, this Prowl (that Prowl), he had forgotten entirely about the freak's 'date'.

It was quite the trek to Liege's too, as treads on snow wasn't exactly the easiest thing. But tonight was special, and Power Joe was more than willing to make that trip.
And when the power shovel arrives, he's more than excited.
"Arcee!"
Oh...what lies in store for him.

Arcee unfolds his leg from where it was crossed over his knee, giving a rather critical squint in the direction of the shout. He was quietly willing the guest away, but he could hear the shifting outside the door and eventually he just sighs and puts down the odd trinket in his hand.
It was just bound to be some weirdo looking for the freak, but he wasn't really sure. He didn't really recall seeing much evidence that she had any friends.
He opens the door and leans an arm over the frame, looking down (not by much) at the yellow mech standing there. It takes a few moments to click that she had spoken to this mech before. While the female Arcee didn't seem to click that there was any sort of interest, he certainly had gleaned that.
"Whaddya want?"
no subject
So he's going to...not freak out. No. Nothing was going to spoil tonight for him. He finally got a date here on this planet. A date that wouldn't mess up. A girl wh actually wanted to be with him and didn't think he was just a toy.
There had to be some mistake.
"Is...Arcee here?"
Might as well be polite. Maybe her robot dad showed up or something.
no subject
He rolls his optics and makes a soft vent, shaking his head.
"I'm Arcee."
He quirks an optic ridge.
"You're looking for the freak with my name, aren't you?"
no subject
Those green eyes narrow, as if side-eyeing the mech very heavily. He didn't know if this was meant to be taken as a joke or not, but he certainly wasn't laughing. Arcee was a girl--he was sure of it. He'd spoken to her, seen her, known people who agreed on both those points. And this wasn't Arcee.
And this guy had the audacity to even--
"No, you're not."
...
But when 'Arcee' speaks that next sentence, he can't help but blurt it out.
"She is NOT a freak!"
no subject
"Aaah, okay. I get it. You've got a crush on the science experiment."
He flicked his optics over Joe's frame. From what he remembered of the conversation he read, he turned into an Earth mode power shovel. Yellow was kind of a gaudy color, but then again, he wasn't exactly the leading mech on color theory.
"Would be a shame if you came all the way here for nothing. Why don't you come in, get cozy. We can compare parts."
no subject
"Hey! Don't call her that either! She's my -date-!"
And he can't help but feel a little nervous at the once over. There wasn't any reason for it, he just got...a vibe. One he didn't really like.
"Uh..."
AND THERE IT IS. RED FLAG.

At the very least, it seemed ever since he showed up, his alternate universe version had vanished. Probably for good riddance. Aside from weirding him out a bit, from what he could tell she hadn't been a particularly happy mech. He didn't quite know the whole story.
"Going to come in or not? I'll pour you some energon, if you drink that."
He squints at him, fairly unsure.
"Maybe she just forgot, though figure if she's going to come around it'll be here."
no subject
His tone's pretty dry. This wasn't the same Arcee he'd asked out. The one who was so oddly intrigued by the thought of it. And, you know, the whole physical difference. It was a tad unsettling, if he could be frank about it.
"I...I'm not sure."
It was true. He honestly didn't know what to do. Should he try and take this and roll with it? Or is it technically betrayal to his date?
...
"She wouldn't forget this. ...Would she?"
Why is he even asking.
no subject
"I don't know. Never met her."
He turns, slipping into the room, and then squats and begins to scavenge through the furniture and belongings. He had to admit-- abomination of a Cybertronian or not, she was smart. From what he could tell she didn't really quite live in the room as much as she used it as one of numerous storage points, and none of her belongings were out in the open.
Eventually he makes a sound of triumph and pries a loose plate free from under a storage cabinet. The cabinet itself was empty, but beneath it... He pulls out a gun and a few energon snacks. He pops one of the hard crystals into his mouth, then holds one out in offer over his shoulder.
"Want some?"
no subject
PJ was loud an obnoxious at times, but even he could be humble.
"Yeah, figures you wouldn't." It's a low grumble if anything, hardly audible.
But at that sound, he perks up, his 'ear' pieces flicking slightly as his neck cranes to get a better glimpse. Huh. He had to pride Arcee (the girl one) on her smuggling habits. She sure knew where to hide things.
"Uh...sure..."
And he takes it, popping one in his mouth.
"It's weird. I got stood up and I don't even think it's her fault."
no subject
He should know. He's one of them. Still, he throws the snacks up on the berth and then crawls across the floor, tapping against the wall to see if he finds any more hidden stashes. His optics eventually follow the wall to the ceiling, a broad grin spreading across his lips as he spots the vent there.
"Can't say I understand the appeal."
He traces the floor, checking for scuffs, then bends over in front of the wall and flips over onto his hands against it. He hooks his feet into grooves in the wall, then hoists himself up to the ceiling.
no subject
It's almost said casually, with a pop of an energon goodie into his mouth. As much as his engine was accustomed to this stuff, it had such a different taste in comparison to gasoline. Not that it was bad, just...
Different.
"If ya treat her like a freak, you can't blame her for wanting to go at anything that looks at her wrong. She's not a freak, she's just Arcee.
Is this making any sense?"
no subject
"Not really. You don't think she seems, I dunno, weird to you?"
Because frankly he's still having trouble grasping why she's alive, let alone the fact someone was interested romantically. Not really his business, though. Even if he was curious.
At the very least, he drops down with some more food supplies, and then starts emptying a bag full of energon cubes on a table.
"Doesn't seem there's much high grade. You want high grade?"
no subject
Well...not quite the 'dinner' he was expecting...
"Weird? Nothin' compared to what I had back home. I mean she seems shy and stuff but...you know."
No, he doesn't, PJ. And when those cubes are emptied out, his gaze looks up.
"Well...up to you. I mean, you're my 'date' kind of...really kind of."
Why did it feel so weird to say it now?
no subject
"High grade it is."
He cracks open two of the cubes and helps himself to one, taking a deep drink. High grade always burned down the intake, warming his fuel tank as it pooled in it. He lets out a pleasant sigh and pats Power Joe on the shoulder.
"You could do better." It's hard for him to describe why he was so disturbed by his alternate. He couldn't quite put it to words and it didn't seem like the human made mech really got it. Sure, he could tell she was unstable, but--
"'She'. That's it. That's what bothers me about her. It just rolls off the tongue automatically and that bugs me. It's unnatural."
