Don has been bustling around the kitchen for quite a while, making a couple of dishes that he expects a kid (even one as serious as Cody) would probably like. There's been a lot of curry going around lately, so he's decided on fried rice, accompanied by a few recipes from his home, and one that Marvelous has been talking about from Famille that Ahim used to like. The tell-tale pause when he mentioned he was making it was approval enough for him.

He's actually landed the ship and put down the ramp, so that Cody doesn't have to climb a rope to get on. Thankfully, nothing too terribly unpleasant is roaming outside, at least that Don can see on the radar. Currently most everything is warming or cooling, waiting for Cody to arrive.

Finding and fixing a bike wasn't that hard, as it turned out, as there was plenty of spare parts in the junkpile for Cody to assemble one. It wasn't any work of art, but it definitely got Cody to where he needed to go. Going from the police headquarters to the ship for example.

Cody arrived and took a moment to admire the ship before getting off the bike and leaving it next to the ramp. He seriously doubted that anyone was going to steal it. Being a relatively polite kid, he knocked on the wall as he entered.

"Hello?"

He caught the scent of actual food cooking, and instantly he felt hungry. Cody knew how to use a stove and a microwave, but he didn't know how to cook actual meals. He definitely wasn't going to regret coming here.

He bustles down to the door, in an apron. "Hey, Cody, come in." He leads the way up the ramp. "Marvelous, dinnertime!" He calls up the stairs as he leads the way up. "He'll be here in no time. Thanks for coming!"

SOUNDS GOOD TO ME

Marvelous makes a loud noise of acknowledgement from below the crew deck, and a moment later he can be heard stomping up the stairs. He tops the stairs, still fiddling with the cuffs of his turned-up sleeves. He'd been changing shirts when Don called, and it shows, given that one tail is folded under. He notices after half a second, and flips it out, smoothing it down, before he chucks his chin at Cody with a smile pulling at one corner of his mouth. "Yo," he says, "Marvelous."
