The Pet narrows its one eye -- whether because of suspicion, a facial twitch, or just because its eye is kind of broken, who knows, either way -- it does recognise that command.

Huffing, it very gingerly pulls itself up, and then settles down away. And then it rolls over, mangly feet sort of flopped around uselessly as it stares at her with expectancy.

Well okay, so 'roll over' and 'lay down' weren't really the same thing but ... oh who are we kidding, the DJD are just really terrible at training their pets, okay?
