Optimus had his doubts that Starscream was the one responsible. The feat of transporting them both aside, the Decepticon was far more likely to target Megatron than he was any Autobot - and even then, why only bring him? If he was hoping to wipe out any opposition, he had bigger threats to worry about; taking only a single 'bot out of the picture didn't fit his somewhat... grandiose style.
But that didn't mean that he didn't know anything. Starscream may not appreciate teamwork, but sharing information would have been the fastest way to get out of this mess.
