Heart to Heart [CLOSED]
WHO: Deckerd and Yuuta
WHERE: Prima's temple.
WHEN: Late night, Saturday.
WHAT: Deckerd has some overprotective robot-dad feels.
WARNINGS: Toothrot. Pure, unadulterated fuzzy mushy fluff.
It's just him here. Him and the other Braves- but he places Yuuta as his responsibility alone. At least his general care. Making sure he's bathed, fed and still goes to bed on time. It's odd, he never considered how much work it was, as his sisters took care of him, and he was generally old enough to be self-sustaining. But in this environment, things take a much more abnormal turn. Things here are not made to house humans.
He's set aside a whole stash of food just for Yuuta, just in case, and arranged for a semi-human-sized living space while they work on building the Decker room again. That will include plans for a room all his own.
Still... in the meantime, parenting is as much as a full time job as being a cop is. Not that he minds. Not in the least, it simply came as a shock to him. He never realized.
It's all the nitty gritty. The details that he didn't previously have to consider. And maybe. Maybe he's a bit smothering, he thinks, as he walks down the hall looking for his friend because it's bed time (and he's been out of his sight for a while and that makes Deckerd antsy). So maybe it's smothering- but he has every right, he tells himself, to worry. Because this is an entirely different ball game.
This is an alien planet and there are proven dangerous individuals here, and he doesn't know the layout completely and there are so many variables his Super A.I. just can't really keep up with.
"Yuuta?" Where did he go? Deckerd had found and washed a nice, un-tattered blanket for him and everything. It's hard to find new-ish things in the junk pile and he has been pleased with this one.
"Yuuuuuuuuuuuuta!" Okay. So maybe he wandered off a but further. Maybe Gunmax is with him. Or McCrane. Still, he can't help but feel a twinge of panic as he walks down the large halls, blanket spread out in front of him between his hands like some kind of offering.

Yuuta leans into Deckerd's touch, though his face definitely forms a pout. "Pleaaaase? Just a little bit, Deckerd! I promise I'll go to sleep straight away after just one more thing!"

Uhg. His gaze flicks to the high ceiling as if hoping that it somehow might offer him the strength to stand by his word. But there's nothing. And he cants his head to the side in defeat.
"Okay. Just a little while."
Yuuta is placed ever-so-carefully back down, though he is left with the blanket.
"What is this very-important thing you must do?"
no subject
He'll keep a good eye out! Police work and such.
Aaaand haha! Yuuta grins as he's put down on the ground, "Sankyuu, Deckerd!" He pulls the blanket about his shoulders like a cape and reaches into his pockets for the things he found while exploring. "I have to show you what I found today! There are a lot of interesting things around here!" Pulling a face, Yuuta finally digs out a couple of shiny rocks and some slightly florescent ones. They're all really pretty though. "Maybe it's because it's an alien planet, but things look different here. See? This one is really pretty."
He holds out a round blue rock for Deckerd to inspect. "This one's color kinda reminds me of you!" 8'DD

Leave it to Yuuta to find beauty in just about anything. It's one of the many reasons he admires the child and holds him in such high regard.
He laughs, optics glowing brightly.
"It's very blue, surely."
He examines the others carefully, pointing at a mottled yellowish one.
"This one reminds me of you a little bit."
no subject
"Isn't it? I think I'll keep this one!"
Following Deckerd's finger, Yuuta picks up the yellow rock up as well and holds it up towards Deckerd.
"This one? Does it?"
Thinking for a moment, Yuuta holds it up higher.
"Then you should keep it! Then we can have reminders of each other, see? If I keep the one that reminds me of you and you of me, it'll be like we're always together."
no subject
"Alright, then. Let's so it. But you know, we don't need these to always be together."
The boy is lifted up against the sharp lapel of his chest.
"You are always a part of my heart, Yuuta. That is why we are never alone."
